Converting Faults to Horizons 断层转层位 （山定子 译）
When you convert a fault to a horizon, you store the fault plane information in horizon data files (.hzd_glb). You can then work with the fault as if it were a horizon, interpreting it with the tracking modes, shifting it up or down in time, etc.
断层转换为层位时，断面信息将保存为层位数据文件（.hzd_glb）。于是可象解释层位那样解释断层，可以使用追踪模式，在时间剖面上做上下移动等操作。
You must convert the fault to a horizon in order to
为达到下列目的，就得把断层转为层位
• smooth the fault plane 平滑断面
• generate a dataset for the fault plane so you can create fault plane maps 创建断面数据集，以生成断面图
• export the fault data to a mapping package that requires faults to be in the same format as horizons. 把断层数据输出成与层位数据格式相同的数据。
To convert a fault to a horizon, do as follows:
断层转层位的方法如下：
1. If the fault plane has not yet been triangulated, triangulate it as follows:
若断面未做三角计算，按如下方法做三角计算：
• From the Map View menu, select Faults--> Triangulate. 从Map View菜单，选 Faults --> Triangulate。
• Select the desired fault in the Triangulate dialog box. 在Triangulate对话框中，选想要的断层。
• Click on OK. 点OK。
2. In the Map View, select Faults --> Convert Fault to Horizon.
在Map View菜单，选Faults --> Convert Fault to Horizon。
The following dialog box appears. 出现下面的对话框。
3. For the Input Fault, click on List and select the fault you want to convert to a horizon. 对于Input Fault选项，点开List并选要转换为层位的断层。
4. For the Output Horizon, create a new horizon as follows:
对于Output Horizon选项，按如下方法创建一个新层位：
• Click on List. 点开List。
• Click on Create in the Horizon Selection box.
在Horizon Selection窗口，点Create。
• Enter a name and set the horizon type to “Fault” in the Create Horizon dialog box.
在Create Horizon对话框里，输入文件名，把层位类型设为“Fault”。
Alternatively, you can select an existing horizon. If you do, the converted fault data is merged with the existing horizon.
也可选择已存在的层位，那么转换的断层数据就与现有的层位合并了。
5. Click on OK in the Convert Fault to Horizon dialog box. 在Convert Fault to Horizon对话框上点OK。
The fault plane data is copied to .hzd_glb files, and this new “horizon” will appear in the list when you next open the Multiple Horizon Selection box.
断面数据被复制成 .hzd_glb 文件。当下次打开Multiple Horizon Selection对话框时，这个新“层位”将出现在列表里。
You now have the fault data in two places: the ORACLE database and the newly created .hzd_glb files. Note that the .hzd_glb files will not be automatically updated if you subsequently edit the fault plane. In such a case, convert the fault plane to a horizon once again to include the latest interpretation.
现在你在两处拥有了断层数据：ORACLE数据库和新生成的 .hzd_glb 文件。注意：如果你随后编辑了断层面，那么这些 .hzd_glb 文件将不会自动更新。这时，请再把包括最新解释的断面转换成层位。
