Installation
============
To be able to install SVI Pro you will need to have administrator privilegies. To check this you
can go to Start Menu->My Computer->Control Panel->User Accounts for Windows XP.
The SVI Pro installation pack comes as a zipped up file, containing the executable file
"Setup_SVIPro.exe" and also some SVI Pro QuickGuides answering some of the most common questions.
Prior to installation, place this file in a temporary folder on your local machine or on your Windows desktop
and unzip the file.
To begin installation double-click on the installer (Setup_SVIPro.exe) and follow the on screen instructions given by
the installation wizard.

=====================
License configuration
=====================
SVI Pro requires a single license to run. If you require a license to run SVI Pro, please contact
your system administrator or ffA support.

To install the SVI Pro license
------------------------------
This license is a FlexLM v10.8.x compatible license. To install a nodelocked license for SVI Pro rename
the license file to "svipro.lic" and place this file in the following directroy:

    <svipro-install-dir>\License\

Where <svipro-install-dir> is the loaction of the SVI Pro directory on your system. The default
install location is:

    C:\Program Files\ffA\SVIPro 2.1\

If you have a floating license, please contact your system administrator or refer to the
SVIProQuickGuide_CompleteWindowsLicenseServerInstallation.pdf on how to setup a license server on Windows.

=================================================================================================
            ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY AVAILABLE IN SVI PRO 2008.1
=================================================================================================

* The Processes and Workflows "tree" has been regrouped and some processes renamed. This is to simplify
the structure and for each category to be more descriptive.

* New workflow: CarbApp for Carbonate Evaluation, which includes the following new Processes:
    * Eigen Analysis
    * Conformance
    * Instantaneous Phase
    * Fault Density
    * Bedform Indicator

* Other new Processes include:
    * Skin In

* New tool: Iso-Proportional Slicing which allows you to analyse the data in different maps. This can be done for both
volumes and RGB Blends.

* New tool: ScanInterp, which provides a way to scan through the data in the direction of a feature of interest, allowing the user
to "pick" this feature as a new project Item e.g a fault or a horizon. This can be done for both volumes and RGB Blends.

* New tool: Voxel Pick driven Segmentation. Can be used to select individual faults or a network of connected faults.

* New tool: RGB Export, which allows a RGB Blend to be exported into a variety of different formats.

* New visualisation option for volumes. The volume can now be visualised using standard, smooth or enhanced interpolation.
However, this is very dependant on the user's graphics card. For more information see the help.

* Horizons can now be re-gridded to a 1x1 grid, which in turn allows all tools to process over the horizon.

=================================================================================================
            ISSUES FIXED AND ENHANCEMENTS ADDED IN SVI PRO 2008.1
=================================================================================================

* ENH36- The user can now choose to produce a body labelled volume, directly from the RGB Segmentation tool.

* ENH35- The 'autocache' option has been added to the RGB Segmentation tool.

* ENH54- Cursor Location Reporting is now ON by default.

* ENH5- VoxelMath UI default modifications.

* ENH6- SEGY Rev1 was added as a pre-set option in the SEGY Import Wizard and New Project Wizard.

* ENH38- VoxelPick now displays its World Cooordinates in the properties dialog.

* BUG1766- In previous versions, calculating the Instantaneous Frequency in a Depth project, resulted in blank
result. This has now been rectified.

* BUG1774- Sometimes the ROI was cut wrongly in a Process so the resulting volume ended with an assymmetrical border.
This has now been fixed.

* BUG1794- The output from the RGB Segmentation used to be Unsigned8. This has now been changed to always match the
input.

* BUG1838- The Cursor Location Reporting wasn't working on a slice in previous version. This is now fixed.

* BUG1842- The License Block Export feature now works properly.

* BUG1864- On a newly created Arbitrary Line, the interpolation said On but was in fact Off. This has now been
rectified and the correct option applied.

* BUG1866- Batch Load/Save dialog did not remember its previous directory. This has now been rectified and the
standard Windows behaviour implemented.

* BUG1910- In previous versions when creating a new RGB Blend, the Blue Scale value wasn't applied to the blend. This has
now been fixed.

* BUG1913- Furthermore, if the user modified the scale or offset values in the RGB Wizard, they were not being
propagated down properly and the default values were applied to the blend. This has now been fixed so the user's values
are applied to the blend.

* BUG1915- There was a chance of volumes being overwritten in the previous version, which resulted in a corrupted result
volume. More stringent checks have been put in place to prevent this kind of behaviour.

* BUG1925- A License Block can now be entered manually.

* BUG1953- The VoxelPick Measure functionality was not working properly the 2nd time it was being applied. This is now fixed.

=================================================================================================
            ISSUES FIXED AND ENHANCEMENTS ADDED IN SVIPRO v2.1.1
=================================================================================================

* BUG1888- In previous versions of SVI Pro, in the FreqDecomp tool when using the Exponential Constant Q option, there was a
labelling issue, which meant that selecting the lowest frequency did in fact select the highest frequency and
vice versa. This has now been fixed.

* BUG1890 & #1892- Creating a new slice now correctly inherits the colourmap of the volume it's based on. (see enhancement ENH43)

* BUG1872- In previous versions of SVI Pro, using the SEGY exporter caused the data to wrap under certain circumstances.
This didn't actually show up until the volume was re-imported. however, this is now fixed and values are clipped instead.

* BUG1876- SVI Pro no longer crashes when a voxel pick is "sent to" the Xapp tool.

* BUG1893- Using the scale in the FaultEnhance process, caused the values to wrap. This has now been changed to clip.

* BUG1894- The "Input" histogram in the Xapp tool was not right for 8bit volumes with all values lieing in the top half
of the range (e.g. 128-255)

* BUG1900- The Preview slice viewer in the Xapp tool didn't pick up the colourmap of the volume correctly.

* BUG1905- In SVI Pro v2.1 the user couldn't enter a ',' in the expression in the Parser, resulting in the user not being able
to use e.g. the Max(x,y) function.

* BUG1854 & BUG1859- In previous version of SVI Pro, the threshold entry did not update properly to reflect selected input data,
affecting all Processes using a threshold value to run. It was also checking the validity of the threshold values
even though the user had selected the opacity option. This is now fixed and the suggested threshold value
should reflect the data type of the selected volume and the threshold values validity is only checked when
the Segmentation method- Threshold is selected.

* BUG1873- Similar, the zero crossing was not updated properly when a 8bit input volume was selected, which caused
unexpected results if not modified. This has also been fixed.

* BUG1874- When drawing a ROI in the RGB 2d slice viewer, the controls could sometimes become disabled if the user had
zoomed in on the slice.

* BUG1857- SVI Pro no longer accepts 0 as multiply nor divide constant in the Channel process.

* BUG1883- When loading/importing a volume, the survey grid displayed in the wizard, sometimes showed up as having
the same values for the inline and crossline directions.

* BUG1884- The ROI size now properly reflects the size of the ROI in the main viewer.

* BUG1879- The result of 3D Measure are no longer reported in a scientific format.

* BUG1880- Sometimes when a user would enter a valid number into one of the input entry boxes, the value would appear red
as if it was invalid.

* ENH9- The voxel pick functionlity doesn't work when the ROI is switched on. SVI Pro now automatically switch the ROI off
when the user presses the Voxel Pick button.

* ENH41- The "Cut Subset" dialog now reports the size of the subset in a similar manner to the Volume Extents dialog.

* ENH43- Added a "Lock colourmap" option to the Slice toolpanel. This will lock the colourmap to the current selection so updating
the volume will no longer change the colormap to that of the source volume.

* ENH38- Each voxel pick now displays its World X and World Y position in its properties.

=================================================================================================
            ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY AVAILABLE IN SVIPRO v2.1
=================================================================================================

* Arbitrary Lines/Slices - these are made up of several segments of data, each at a different angle orthogonal
to the inline/crossline plane. Different data can be displayed on each slice/line and the interpolation can also
be adjusted for each slice. When displaying the slices you might need to adjust the scene lightning to display
them at their best. The Light Editor control can be accessed via the View menu.

* Batch jobs can now be saved and re-loaded into the same or a different project at a later stage. The
batch job will remember all its parameters for the job together with the connectivity (if the volumes in
question are still present in the project).

* Well top markers - the ability to add well top markers and also edit existing ones.

* Extended Voxel Pick functionality including being able to pick multiple voxels and displaying multiple voxels
in the scene. Picked voxels can be copied to other volumes as well as renamed, resized and its colour can be
changed. Saved Picks can also be exported into the Xapp tool

* Improved Xapp, which includes the ability to link data in the Xapp with data in the 3d viewer using Voxel Pick.
Further minor enhancements include for example 3 axes in the ellipsoid in the 3D Viewer to help the user orient
themselves in the crossplot diagram and extended output options from segmentation, improved 3D rendering and better
interactivity in the workflow. Also new segmentation output option in the form of a body labelled volume.

* New Frequency Decomposition graph controls on the Spectrum page.

* Extended slice view functionality (including RGB slice viewer)
    - preserve view point functionality, if this is selected the viewpoint (e.g. slice, level of zoom etc)
    will remain the same whilst changing the volume.
    - rotation, the slice can now be rotated 0-360 degrees.
    - flip, the slice can be flipped
    - reset view

* Interactive measuremnents in the slice viewers for UTM projects. The user can define a ROI and the measurement
are interactively updated as the user selects the ROI. All measurements are given in the correct unit for the data.
    Measurements include:
        * Path Length - as drawn so far
        * Bounding Box Extents - the width and height of the rectangle enclosing the path as drawn so far
        * Area - is given when you end the drawing of the ROI.

* 3D and 2D Camera View - added the ability to save and load camera views

* Cut subset tool- gives the user the ability to cut a subset form a volume without the need to cache the full
volume first.

* Improved Fault Attributes, which now produces the same results over a subset as over the full volume.

* A new process- PhaseShift has been added to the TraceAttributes.

Minor Additions and Improvements
================================
* Improved Processes include Terracing, which include more options and Attributes which is now based on a more
accurate algorithm. Also some UI's have been simplified for the user. Please see the help for more information.
* The ability to change the font and its size via the Options dialog. SVI Pro will need to be restarted for any
changes to take affect.
* Orthographic camera view option in the 3D main viewer.
* Introduced new colourmap- 'RedWhiteBlack'
* Frequency Decomposition values for depth data is now reported in cyc/km, which makes them easier to work wih.
* Improved rendering when shifting a horizon whilst it contains mapped data.
* The user now has access to the PostScale controls directly via the HorizonTool Panel when mapping a blend.
* The user can now change the colour of the horizon contour annotation.

            KNOWN ISSUES IN SVI Pro 2008.1
================================================================================================

Visualisation Issues
--------------------
* When visualising smaller volumes, with a size less than 64 in any direction, the display is sometimes
corrupted so that it looks like the volume is empty.
* When simultanously visualising a RGB blend and a volume, and they are of identical size, visual
artefacts can appear around the edge of the volume. To remedy this, slightly adjust the size of either
the volume or the blend.
* Sometimes, when visualising a large volume together with an arbitrary line, the data does not update
to high resolution. Manipulating the ROI or moving the volume could help improve this or depending on your
grpahics card, change the Volume Interpolation option in the Opions Dialog, accessed from the Tools menu.

Frequency Decomposition
-----------------------
* When working with project where the z-unit is "depth" rather than "time" the spectrum graph in the Frequency Decomposition
workflow becomes visually very small. The values are correct though but to visualise it properly the user can zoom in the
graph display.

Processes and Batch Processing
------------------------------
* Running the DipAzi Gradient and TDIffusion processes in the same batchjob will lead to artefacts in the noise cancelled
volume. However if they are run seperately they are working ok.
* The more processes that are added to the batch processing window, the longer it takes for each UI
to load.
* Selecting auto-cache of volumes doesn't update the progressbar properly, which makes it look like the timer has stopped
at 100%.
