排驱半径是油井流动达到拟稳态以后，能够向井提供的流动区域的面积折算成圆形的半径，而水平井井底半径仅是一孔之见。至于水平井还是直井，排驱半径和井底半径并无特殊的地方，仅是井的供给面积的形状上，直井因是以点为中心向四周扩散，一般为圆形，而水平井因是以线（水平井段）为中心向四周扩散，一般为椭圆形。
