Encouraged by the boom in shale natural gas drilling in the United States and driven by recurring domestic gas shortages, China has fast-tracked plans to explore the unconventional fuel in its homeland.
As we know China holds up to 30 trillion cubic meters of shale gas resources. China's goal is for about 12% of their natural gas production to come from shale gas wells by 2020. China will have to first learn how the ins and outs of shale production — something that U.S. companies have been perfecting for years.
The CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC - leading operators of the unconventional oil and gas industry in China, will be meeting at the 2nd Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit 2011 on April 14th – 15th in Beijing China to share the very latest projects and development strategies they are using to exploit the shale gas and CBM resources in China even globally.
With the successful experience in 2010, This unique gathering has be a must-attend event for industry professionals by bringing together leading unconventional gas suppliers, buyers, E&P and solution providers. The UHS 2011 will come along with the pace of the unconventional hydrocarbon industry in China for all the global energy industry players to outline the landscape of the emerging energy industry.
不断攀升的能源需求和日益增大的能源压力，让非常规能源受到越来越多的重视。而页岩气在北美大陆上的大放异彩，则把人们的目光成功地引向了这个天然气家族的新成员-页岩气，同时也唤起了我国对它的重视和关注。然而，尽管资源丰富,我国页岩气开发还处于探索阶段，目前仍没有开采计划，这个"价值连城的宝藏"至今依然沉睡地下。同时，作为一个新兴的非常规能源，页岩气资源的开发需要大量技术、资金和人员投入。而我国页岩气资源的开发刚刚起步，经验匮乏，技术不成熟，这些因素制约着我国页岩气的发展，页岩气资源的规模开发还有很长的路要走。
另外，煤层气方面，中国政府正在制订中的《新能源产业振兴发展规划》草案已经圈出了两个煤层气产业化基地、15个抽采利用煤层气的矿区、5条煤层气长输管道路线，在财税政策上国家也将给与煤层气生产企业更多扶持。
由此可见，拥有着巨大非常规油气资源量和需求量，但相关产业发育成熟度较低的中国，毫无疑问对于全球能源市场参与者是一个富有吸引力的市场。
